Great Bookcase
I use this unit in my home office. As such, it needed to be functional, yet attractive and cost efficient. Color-wise, it is a great match, with the "spice" color shelves coordinating well with existing black and medium cherry color furniture. It is a solid piece of furniture and not flimsy at all once assembled.
The assembly was very easy for me, and I only needed my spouse's assistance once, to flip the unit over onto its face, so I could attach the backer board.
What I did not care for such much and somewhat struggled with (hence requiring my spouse's assistance) is the backer board. It is basically foil-printed, heavy duty cardboard, which is folded in harmonica fashion. The fold is so tight that it does move away while it is being nailed to the back, making alignment somewhat challenging. I found it easiest to lie the almost completed unit face down, provisionally tacking on the board in several places, then place the unit upright and finish tacking on the back panel. I did make good use of the enclosed color pen (great accessory) to color the raw edges that peeked out here and there.
In all, I am very happy with this unit, especially since CSN offered the best deal around.

You review ... furniture?
ReplyDeleteNo, wrong.
You reviewED one single bookcase.
In 2011.
This might be the greatest blog I've read all year.
Including my own.
And I'm not saying this because you are the only new commenter on my blog all year.
Including myself.
That makes no sense. My apologies.
...
Hell, what a beautiful bookcase!
